Top of the mornin' to you
St Patricks Day was today and even though it's almost over for me it's just starting in other parts of the world so I thought I'd share my outfit. Even though I have a fair chunk of Irish blood in me (and always seem to get strangers asking me if I'm Irish) I confess I'm not hugely into St Patricks Day. However I also appreciate not being pinched so I do wear green every year.
The above outfit is pretty similar to what I wore today while running around. I didn't get up to much so its pretty casual however it can be dressed up/down depending on what you may be doing. My favourite part of the outfit is the glitter shoes because its like a leprechauns pot of gold (and I'm always looking for an excuse to wear mine). I also love the long pearls, I find this to be the easiest way to wear a t-shirt and make it look intentional instead of lazy.
So let me know what you're wearing (wore) today and what exciting plans you may have (mine included looking after my siblings again, watching Pocahontas II and trying to not point out all the historical flaws)

Butterbeer
Since my parents are away in Mauritius for my Mum's 50th Birthday I have been running my two younger siblings around all week. So to celebrate Friday night we decided to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. To go with this we decided to make some butterbeer because what else could go better with Harry Potter than Harry Potter themed snacks. I know there are a lot of recipes floating around the internet for Butterbeer but I thought I'd add ours because it's pretty yummy.
Owl Post mug optional
Butterbeer, Serves 1
- 1 cup milk (or however much your mug will hold)
- 1 tablespoon powdered milk (to make it frothy)
- 6 butterscotch lollies such as Werther's Originals, crushed
- 1 teaspoon sugar (if you are a super sweet tooth like me)
- 1 dash vanilla essence
Combine milk and powdered milk together in a saucepan. Heat the mixture until it is warm. Add crushed lollies, sugar and vanilla. Stir until melted together. Serve in your favourite mug and settle down with either a Harry Potter book or movie.
I find this recipe takes about 10 minutes to do as you don't want to cook the milk too quickly and burn it. Good luck with it and let me know how it turned out and/or how you make your own version of butter beer.

Raspberry Sorbet
Hi I'm Stacey.....and I'm a philosophy addict.
My obsession with this brand started around May last year when I decided to shake up my skincare routine (Clinique was making my face way too tight for my liking). So to cut a long story short I placed my first order soon after and have kept going back since. Since I reside in Australia and what limited philosophy products we get here are ridiculously overpriced I order all my products online. Due to this I have no idea what they smell like before I get them however I have never been disappointed yet.
Since a lot of the holiday items are on sale right now I decided to place an order which I feel was a total indulgence which is what I love about it. The entire order is just yummy smelling body wash and lotion, no skin care products at all! I ordered The Gingerbread Girl 3-in-1 and lotion, Pumpkin Spice 3-in-1 and lotion, the Amazing Grace scrub, Candy Cane lip gloss and the Raspberry Sorbet 3-in-1. I may put reviews up as I go through them but today I want to devote the rest of this post to Raspberry Sorbet.

This lovely bottle of body wash smells amazing, like a berry scented Summer breeze. I suppose if you hate raspberries this would not be the body wash for you as all philosophy products smell true to life.
It's not only the smell I love about this wash. Having super sensitive skin it can be hard to find a nice smelling body wash that doesn't make me itch like crazy for the two hours after I get out of the shower. Raspberry Sorbet (along with Amazing Grace, the other philosophy shower gel I use) doesn't make me itch at all, and the perfume in the wash doesn't irritate any problem areas of skin I may have such as patches of eczema. While this may not seem like much to those who can use whatever they want on their skin, to those of us who have had to use Alveeno or other gentle but non-scented washes this is amazing!
The only downside to this product is that the scent doesn't last that long after you are out of the shower. I find with Amazing Grace you can elongate the scent by using the matching lotion, sadly Raspberry Sorbet doesn't have one of those. However I suppose if you shower in the morning instead of at night the non lingering scent is good because it won't clash with your perfume.
All in all I love this product and will most likely re-purchase when it runs out. It's a great scent for Summer nights which I enjoy using. Although I secretly can't wait till Autumn so I can break out the Pumpkin Spice scent.

A Journey of A Thousand Miles...
...begins with a single step. - Lao Tsu.
This blog has been sitting around since September mainly unused. This seems to happen a lot with blogs I write and I'm sure I have accumulated a fair amount of blog names over the years. However today while I was having lunch with a friend it suddenly dawned on us that we are about to embark on a new chapter in our lives; life beyond university (aka the real world). So I though to myself if that isn't reason enough to start a blog then I don't know what is!
Ok so in all honesty I'm not necessarily in the 'real world' yet as I am about to start my Post Grad Diploma in Museum Studies. However this is being completed online so there is a distinct lack of any university experience.
I can't promise what particular theme this blog will have as it will just be glimpses into my life which involves many different facets. However I will try to blog as much as possible and cover anything I find interesting and amusing.
